Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields was born on May 31, 1965. As a model for children, she received acclaim from critics when she played the principal role in Louis Malle's movie Pretty Baby (1978). She continued to model until her late teenage years and appeared in a variety of films in the 1980s including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).In 1983, Shields stopped her career as a model in order to study at Princeton University, where she obtained a bachelor's diploma in Romance Languages. Shields played minor roles in films and then returned to acting in the 1990s. She also appeared on the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-202000), in which she was nominated to two Golden Globes. Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009) was her second nomination. Shields was back on NBC in 2017 in an ongoing role as a Law & Order: Special Victims unit character in the 19th season of the show. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields is a New Yorker who was born on May 31 1965 in Manhattan. She is the daughter and businessman Frank Shields (1941-1903). According to William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields was a descendent of many noble families in Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was the Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi, she was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. Teri's family paid Frank an amount of money to stop her pregnancy.
