Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III, is a theatre actor writer, director and writer, and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress and acting coach. She has two older brothers--Dana Wood, who is a musician and Ira David Wood IV, who also has acted. Evan and her brothers have performed in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh and her father is the executive director. After a lengthy audition at the age of five, she was old when she had the opportunity to screen-test against Kirsten Dunst. She relocated to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 and has been a hit ever since and has been featured in a variety of TV series, TV movies and feature films. She was in the film Practical Magic (1998), as Al Pacino’s daughter. The comedy S1m0ne(2002) was followed by Thirteen (2003) featuring Holly Hunter. Her breakthrough role in the role of Tracy in "Thirteen" earned her a Golden Globes nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She was the first actress nominated for an award for a Leading Role award at the time. She won an award of a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie" for her portrayal of Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011). Acclaim was also given to her role as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. Dancer. She likes to sing, ride a horseback, and rollerblade. She is an black belt in Tae-Kwon do. Has kept in touch with a majority of her Once and Again (1999) castmates: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan, as well as Shane West.
