Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada She was the daughter of Sandra Kay
(Gale), an RN and Lance Frederick McAdams who is an auto driver and furniture
moving. Rachel is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel started acting at the
age of thirteen. She was already appearing in Shakespearean plays in summer
theater camps. Rachel graduated with honors from York University with a BFA in
Theater. Following her first appearance in an episode of Disney's The Famous Jett
Jackson (1998) She was a co-star in the Canadian television series Slings and
Arrows (2003) A comedy-drama about the trials and travails of the Shakespearean
theater troupe, and won an Gemini award for her performance in 2003.Her debut
role as Regina George in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly brought her
to the top of the list of the top Hollywood's young actors. In the following
film she starred alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of
Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a huge
success in the box-office and became the most popular romantic drama with a
young audience. Following filming, McAdams and Gosling became intimate and
started dating by mid-2007. McAdams' next film was comedy Wedding Crashers
(2006), the thriller Red Eye (2004), as well as the holiday-themed drama The
Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also explored independent filmmaking through
Married Life (2007) which premiered at Toronto Film Festival. It also featured
Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. After her role in The
Lucky Ones, a military drama, State of Play, and The Time Traveler's Wife
(2009) McAdams also starred alongside Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy
Ritchie's global blockbuster Sherlock Holmes. McAdams played the plucky
producer of a failing morning television show in Morning Glory (2010), the sexy
fiancee of Owen Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011) Then she
returned to romantic drama in the hit film The Vow (2012) opposite Channing Tatum.
McAdams also stars alongside Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012) as well as
Noomi Rapace in Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma's film thriller.
