Dolly Rebecca Parton

Dolly Rebecca Parton was created on the 19th of January 1946 in Pittman Center (Tennessee). She was the daughter of Avie Lee Parton and Robert Lee Parton in Sevierville. Parton is a housewife and Parton is a tobacco farmer. At the age of 12, she was already on Knoxville TV. At 13 she was already recording for a small record label and performing at Grand Ole Opry. She relocated to Nashville in 1964 to begin her country-singing career following her graduation from high school. Carl Dean, a asphalt-paving company owner was her first love. The couple was married on May 30 June, 1966. Porter Wagoner hired her in 1967 to appear on his show, The Porter Wagoner Show (1961). She was on the show for seven years. Her duets were made famous and she sang with the Porter Wagoner group at the Grand Ole Opry. She also sold records and toured. Her smash hit "Joshua" was a chart-topper. the top spot in 1970, was her biggest single. She decided to do solo and remained with the group, even though she recorded duets with the singer. In 1974, she parted ways with her husband to pursue a solo artist. Dolly was a well-known singer/songwriter. Dolly received many Country Music Association awards (1968-1971 1971, 1975-1976 and 1975-1976). The diminutive (5'0") beauty was a natural on television at the time, and by the middle of the 1970s she was often appearing on television specials and talk shows before getting her own, Dolly (1976). In 1977, Dolly got her first Grammy award: Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her song "Here You Go Again." Dolly's movie debut was in 9 to 5 (1980) in which she earned an Oscar nomination for her composition of the title song, and Grammy awards 2 and 3: Best Country Song, and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for the track "Nine to Five." Her fame grew with performing in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) as well as in Rhinestone (1984) with the hit song "Tennessee Homesick Blues". Dolly Parton Enterprises, worth $100 million, is her main. Dollywood was established in Pigeon Forge in Tennessee in 1986 to celebrate her Smoky-Mountain roots. She appeared as herself in Dolly, the Dolly (1987) TV show. In the episode "Trio" she was awarded the Best Country Performance Duo or Group with Vocals Grammy in 1988.
